What it does
Draws your DVD, Blu-ray and 4K collection the way it stands at home: each disc upright, its title printed down the spine and its format across the top
Sketch your storage unit cube by cube; each new disc gets a cube and a position, and Show on shelf lights that cube and lifts your disc out between its neighbours
Scan the barcode to bring in the poster, runtime, cast and synopsis, with the printing on the box read to tell a DVD from a Blu-ray or a 4K Ultra HD
Picks up Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR10 and DTS:X from the box; with no readable barcode, photograph the cover or search by title
Three views: Spines to see the collection as it stands, Posters to find a film by its cover, and a List for checking a long run
Sort by date added, title, year, format, rating or location, unit by unit and cube by cube, with every position numbered
Search everything at once, filter by format, extras, genre or cube, and see that you already own a film on Blu-ray before paying for it again
A wishlist for the films you are hunting; move one across when you find it
Stats on your format split, the decades you buy from, the genres you return to, your fullest cubes and how many days of film you own
Follows your phone: pale blue by day and deep navy in dark mode, with every title readable in both
iCloud for an off-device copy, and an export of everything to CSV at any time
With FilmStacks Pro: no title limit, your own cover photos for editions no database has pictures of, custom fields, and bulk import from a CSV
Questions people ask
How do I keep track of which shelf a DVD is on?
Sketch your storage unit in FilmStacks cube by cube, and every disc you add gets a cube and a position. Show on shelf then draws the unit with that cube lit and the row inside it, your disc lifted out between its neighbours.
Can FilmStacks tell a DVD from a Blu-ray or a 4K disc?
Yes. When you scan the barcode it reads the printing on the box to tell a DVD from a Blu-ray or a 4K Ultra HD, and whether the disc has Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR10 or DTS:X.
Can I move a collection from another app?
Yes, with FilmStacks Pro: bulk import from a CSV moves a collection logged in another app over in one go. You can also export everything to CSV at any time.
Where does the film information come from?
Film data and images come from The Movie Database. FilmStacks is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
