- Guard Mode keeps watch on a room by motion, sound and, on Pro models, measured depth, with a distance tripwire and an Apple Watch app that taps your wrist while the iPhone runs Kamera
- Manual shutter, ISO, focus and white balance with focus peaking, RAW capture as DNG, and a Night Almanac with moonrise, moon phase and tonight's darkest hour
Questions people ask
Can an iPhone see in the dark?
Not with its ordinary camera, which needs at least a little light; night vision style apps brighten whatever light there is. The exception is the LiDAR scanner on Pro model iPhones, which brings its own light, so Kamera Pro's LiDAR lens can draw a fully dark room as measured distance.
Which iPhones have LiDAR?
The iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max and every Pro and Pro Max model since, plus iPad Pro models from 2020 onward. iPhones without Pro in the name do not have a LiDAR scanner.
Is Kamera Pro a thermal or infrared camera?
No. iPhones have no thermal camera, and Kamera Pro's colour lenses, including the Ember and Magma heat-look palettes, are gradings of the ordinary visible-light image. Its LiDAR lens reads real depth from the scanner on Pro models, and the app does not measure temperature.
