Drone weather apps all forecast wind, but they differ in what else they cover: airspace maps, wind at altitude, satellite data, or limits set per aircraft. Some combine weather with no-fly zone maps, while others stick to the forecast. Here is what each app does, going by its own App Store listing.
UAV Forecast
Combines a weather forecast with GPS satellite data, the Kp index, and no-fly zones and flight restrictions. It lists wind and gust speeds at ground level and at altitude, hourly forecasts up to 15 days, and colour-coded good to fly or not good to fly calls against thresholds you configure. App Store
Drone Buddy: Fly Drone Safely
Gives a go or no-go check from weather, TFRs and US controlled airspace, with live wind, gusts, rain radar and visibility, and scores the calmest daylight flying windows. It also has no-fly reference maps and crowd-sourced flying sites with photos and notes from other pilots. App Store
Dronecast: UAV & Drone Weather
Forecasts from Apple Weather with wind and gust speeds at several altitudes, the KP index, drone limits you customize, a pre-flight report, a wind compass, and no-fly zone maps with advisories provided by DJI. It shows a seven day forecast at hourly intervals. App Store
Drone Forecast UAV Air map DJI
A weather forecast for a selected area, by the hour and five days ahead, with wind speed, maximum gusts and direction, and sunrise and sunset times. App Store

Drone Weather Hourly: Pitot
Reads the forecast hour by hour against the wind, gust, visibility, cloud, rain, temperature and K index limits you set for each aircraft, and marks every hour as fly, caution or over your limit. It reports surface wind only and draws no airspace map, leaving airspace to your aviation authority's own tool. About it ยท App Store
Questions people ask
Which drone weather apps show no-fly zones?
UAV Forecast, Drone Buddy and Dronecast list no-fly zone or airspace maps alongside the weather. Pitot does not, and points you to your aviation authority's own tool instead.
Do drone weather apps show wind at altitude?
Some do. UAV Forecast and Dronecast list wind and gusts at altitude, while Pitot reports surface wind only. Wind is usually stronger higher up, so a calm reading at ground level can understate conditions where the drone flies.
