Best IBS tracker and food diary apps for iPhone in 2026

Updated October 2026 by Kamal Nasir

IBS apps fall into two groups: diaries that record food, symptoms and bowel movements, and FODMAP guides that tell you what a food contains. This page compares three of them with Fennel, a diary that reports how often your symptoms followed each food and FODMAP group. Each summary is drawn from the app's own App Store description.

Bowelle - The IBS tracker

A food and symptom diary that records how you feel, what you eat, water, stress, bowel movements, notes and custom fields. Charts let you overlap data types, daily averages cover a period you choose, and you can filter your history and export it by email for a doctor, nutritionist or dietitian. It reads sleep, steps, water and weight from Apple Health. App Store

Questions people ask

What should I track in an IBS food diary?

Usually what you ate and when, your symptoms and when they came, and your bowel movements, often alongside stress and sleep. Timing matters, because a pattern is about what came before a symptom. Take the record to your doctor or a registered dietitian.

Is a FODMAP app the same as an IBS tracker?

Not quite. A FODMAP guide such as the Monash FODMAP Diet app tells you the FODMAP content of foods, while a tracker records what you ate and how you felt. Some do both: the Monash app includes a diary, and Fennel groups your foods by FODMAP group when it looks for patterns.
